Wilshire Park Technology Vision Statement
The technology vision of Wilshire Park Elementary is to provide all students with access to state-of-the-art technology which will assist them with becoming:
- proficient in the areas of math, science, reading and writing
- self-directed autonomous learners
- critical thinkers and problem-solvers
- safe and responsible users of the Internet and other technologies
- prepared for future careers that require technology skills
Wilshire Park teachers will be the innovators and role models by inspiring and guiding students to use technology in a safe and responsible manner. They will seek to integrate technology into academic contexts by creating lesson plans that incorporate authentic uses of technology at the appropriate grade level. Teachers will continue to develop proficiency in technology through professional development opportunities and collaboration with colleagues.
Wilshire Park parents will be actively engaged in their students learning and school community. In collaboration with teachers, they will foster students sense of balance of technology with other important academic and extracurricular activities.
Wilshire Park leadership will continue to provide equipment, resources and ongoing professional development in order for teachers to continue to effectively integrate technology in the classroom.

The Khan Academy is a not-for-profit organization with great resources for teachers, parents and students. This free learning resource has a library that contains over 2,700 videos on all academic subjects and over 306 self-paced practice exercises and assessments. Teachers and parents can also track student data when they sign-up for an account.
